Cheryl R. Holland, CFP® received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics, cum laude, from Bryn Mawr College in 1980 and was awarded the CFP® in 1990.  She is President of Abacus Planning Group, Inc., a fee-only financial planning and investment counsel firm managing over $700,000,000 in assets primarily for individuals.  Barron’s listed Ms. Holland on their 2008 list of the “Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors” in the nation.   Ms. Holland is included on Worth magazine’s list of the Top Financial Advisors in the nation in 1996, 1997, 1998, 2006, 2007 and 2008 and is in Medical Economics in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2002, 2010 and 2011 on the list of the “Best Financial Advisors for Doctors”.  Wealth Manager Magazine has included her in their annual survey of the top wealth managers in the nation every year from 2002 - 2008 and in 2008, 2009, and 2011 on their list of the “Top Fifty Women Wealth Managers” in the country.  She was featured in the December 1, 2008 issue of The Wall Street Journal and again on December 13, 2010.    She is a columnist for the University of South Carolina’s Business and Economic Review, served on the advisory board of  Doctor’s Digest and has been widely quoted in Forbes, Money, Worth, Financial Planning, Journal of Financial Planning, Medical Economics, Investment Advisor, Kiplinger’s, Wealth Manager, Financial Advisor  and other financial publications.  Her company, Abacus Planning Group is the recipient of the 2007 Charles Schwab Pacesetter IMPACT Award® for Innovation and Accelerated Growth.

Ms. Holland is a member of the Bryn Mawr College Board of Trustees, serving as the chair of the Investment Committee for the Endowment.  She served as an appointed member of the 2006-2007 Schwab Institutional Advisory Board, the Schwab Institutional Technology and Operations Advisory Board and the 2007-2008 TIAA_CREF Board of Financial Advisors.  She is a current member of the Park Street Capital VI and VII Advisory Board and Mineral Acquisition Partners 2004 and 2006 Advisory Committee.  Locally, she is a member of the Clemson University College of Business and Behavioral Science Advisory Board, an Elder at Shandon Presbyterian Church and serves as the Public Relations Chairman for the CFA Society of South Carolina.
