Steven S. Erickson, JD, MBA, CFP®, CRPC®
NAPFA-RFA, CRM, AWMA
Steve Erickson is founder of Erickson Financial Solutions, LLC, an independent, fee-only commission-free) financial advisory firm based in central Missouri. While Steve has long held an interest in investing, it was his desire to provide professional, objective advice that efficiently integrates the client’s entire situation that motivated him to establish his own firm.
Steve served in the military for eleven years, many of those years as a helicopter instructor pilot, after graduating from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC, with a BA in Psychology. Later as an Assistant Professor at Washington University, St. Louis, MO, Steve attended Webster University, St. Louis, MO, where he earned two Master’s Degrees – one an MBA and the second in Computer Resource Management. Setting his sights even higher, Steve then attended law school at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Columbia, MO, earning his Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Immediately after becoming a licensed attorney, Steve was recruited to join a leading financial services firm.
Having been a part of the financial services industry for more than a dozen years, Steve can say that he’s always loved helping families achieve their financial goals. In his early years, he learned that he dislikes selling products (and that people don’t like to “be sold”). Consequently, he moved to a completely conflict-free,
advice-oriented business model. As an independent advisor, he now provides objective advice, comprehensive financial planning services, and portfolio management on a fee-only basis.
Steve holds the CFP® mark of distinction and the Accredited Wealth Management Advisor credential from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, CO. He is particularly proud to be a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor. Steve’s firm is a Registered Investment Advisor in Missouri which means he is legally required and ethically obligated to serve as a fiduciary to his clients. Even though he is a non-practicing attorney, Steve’s legal training brings
an in-depth undersanding of complex estate planning.
Steve's wife serves the State of Missouri as an attorney. Steve has two wonderful sons with whom he volunteers his time at school and youth sports. He enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family. Steve also loves to golf and has a passion for playing competitive bridge.
